Talk description
Title:
Training your mind to meet Agile challenges
Short synopsis:
I’ll explain how I trained my mind to iterate, fail and face the unknown without fear. The mind always wants to be in the comfort zone, and limits you to go beyond to protect you. Sometimes we can’t reach life or work goals because our mind isn’t trained for it. The way we breathe signals to the brain of our condition. I’ll teach breathing exercises to understand how to handle your breath, so you can manage your mind and emotions, then you can make better decisions, thus manage projects and life better. Through breathing you learn to release stress that’s very harmful to health maintained over time.

Long synopsis (optional):
My job for 10 years has been doing an English/Spanish language exchange event. With an average of 300 people in each event weekly. In my events I meet people from all over the world, some come from countries so far away that I didn't even know they existed. I have heard hundreds of stories as my work includes greeting approximately 200 people a week and talking a little bit with each one. I get to know about 100 new people every week. From what I've heard stories of all kinds. What makes me realize the concerns of people around the world, all kinds of professions, occupations, religions, travelers who have traveled the world and people who want to travel. Many people come to me because I am a point of reference and also a social connector, what is a great responsibility. It is also a challenge to be able to lead these meetings, I think that the key to the success of having held this event for 10 years is that I make the meetings pleasant for people integrating them and making them feel welcome, I have never studied public relations, but having done this event once a week for 10 years and every time to improve it even more, taking care of many details and especially how people feel, I could say that I have done 520 iterations (one weekly in these 10 years). My mental training and meditation have helped me a lot for this, since there are people who try to challenge me and in social events there can be no confrontation, all the attention is on me, so my behavior must be impeccable at all times, I have learned that you can never please everyone, which requires a lot of strength, sometimes I must say no, with humor and subtlety. Also knowing so many stories and so many people, has led me to wonder why some similar patterns in me, as in people, of stories that are repeated in the sense of fears and insecurities. The answer I found is in the mind, but more than in the conscious mind it is in the subconscious mind. So I will explain both minds in my talk. In my youth I had depression, although for the eyes of society I was very successful at a very young age. This led me to observe my mind and to acquire techniques that allowed me to raise self-esteem, then go beyond and have no limits, face many projects and life without fear and efficiently. The first step of the training is learning how to breading. At birth we are perfect, we know how to breathe with all our thoracic capacity, we are not afraid of anything, but over time, we are breathing more briefly and shallowly, while we learn that there are dangers in life. The dangers of life are information that is being stored in the subconscious, in order to survive, so the subconscious stores information and mental programs (composed of ideas, entrenched beliefs, thoughts, etc.). These programs make us act in a way that We don't realize it and they could make us do a self-sabotage. Meditation is used to clean the information that can cause self-sabotage. In the talk I’ll explain how the mind is a tool that we can use for or against us, it all depends on the training, like a knife, which is a tool and we can cut food or cut a finger, or kill someone Or kill ourselves. That’s why we must train ourselves to use the mind. I will teach some breathing techniques that very easily become meditation and have an effect on the subconscious. So I teach very simple but powerful meditation techniques and explain how to incorporate it into everyday life in an easy and practical way and to transform it into a habit, which replaces other habits that can be harmful for you. I focus on transmitting information in a very dynamic, practical and direct way, since I have seen that people have many beliefs about meditation, so they finally think it’s very difficult and don’t know how useful it can be, So they don't practice it at all.
