Nowadays, almost every team has tried to use Scrum to manage their work. It got to the point where Agile is sometimes synonymous with Scrum for many engineers. However, while Scrum is a great way to organize development process, it is not the only Agile practice that can be used by engineering teams. One such alternative is Kanban Software Development Process. Kanban is commonly used by professionals in high pace occupations like Human Resources, Infrastructure or Network Services. This talk will attempt to show Kanban methodology can be successfully applied in a Software Engineering department. The speaker will share Why’s, What’s and How’s of Kanban while walking through a success story of his team moving from Scrum to Kanban in predominantly Scrum environment at Salesforce.
