Talk description
Title:
Scrum Master and Individual Contributor: Walking Managers Line
Short synopsis:
It is difficult to be a Software Engineer - he or she needs to deliver an immediate product value through lines of code he or she makes. Obviously, it is an oversimplification, but ultimately a role of Individual Contributor is to write code. Is it difficult to be a Scrum Master? You bet it is. Scrum Master needs to drive his or her team to success to ensure the team sets appropriate goals and meets them. Is it possible to be both a Software Engineer and a Scrum Master? This talk aims to prove that it is very much possible and that some companies are combining these two roles. The speaker will share his experience on what is the main difference between being an engineer and a Scrum Master, what were the challenges and what are the rewards of playing two roles in his organization. The audience will be taken on a journey of how the speaker is walking a line of being an engineer, and a Scrum Master without stepping into Management.
