Talk description
Title:
The History of Agile
Short synopsis:
Agile is said to be modern. It isn't. Historical figures from Socrates, through Newton to Lovelace understood Agile principles. "Modern" management techniques are built on hierarchy and Command and Control. If we look at the contemporary accounts of battles, command and control broke down and was replaced by outcome based approaches as soon as the battle started. So the question should not be "why aren't we Agile?", it should be "Why did we STOP being Agile?"
