Product delivery, not software delivery
Short synopsis:
The idea is to run over a bunch of things that hugely affect the value that a software delivery can achieve by focusing on the things outside the typical domain of a dev manager. If you are delivering rubbish, by becoming more efficient you deliver a greater quantity of rubbish - and all output comes with a cost. So consider Product delivery processes not code creation processes. How do you set up at a scaled enterprise delivery level to deliver value not just lines of code. Create a production delivery sytem (of people) - with a single goal at the top that all leadership can follow from - so no skill based siloes with independent success criteria. Idea verification/ prototyping Plan your user implementation as distinct to your technical deployment to production. Might do a few extrapolation exercises, so ask people what would be the consequence of this situation, and then collate feedback.
