Talk description
Title:
Breaking free from our only brain
Short synopsis:
Software development does not need to make us feel lonely! In fact, one part of the agile manifesto promotes “Individual interaction over processes and tools”. This talk is about working collaboratively, especially around pairing, including pair programming and also the more generic pairing with other roles as well. We will go through the economics of pairing and how it affects not only us as people but also the software we build and the users/consumers of our software. We will look at various ways I’ve seen it being adapted into teams and what are the gotchas and signs that need looking out for. We will also look at how the education system and various learning platforms shape the way we develop software in a professional world, both for the better and for worse.
