Title:
Practical Neurobiology Boosts Collective Learning
Short synopsis:
Leading or coaching humans? The power of biology is either in your way - or forwarding your work. Genuine Agility begs for collective smarts; neurobiology highlights that co-learning only happens in distinct physiological states. Experience these states, juicy bits of paleoanthropology and neurobiology about them, and inspiring Fortune 500 examples. Playfully shared by a Business Anthropologist and a Systems Psychologist, you will leave with new Tools to sustain the joys of co-generating – including a metric that tracks with organizational indicators.

Long synopsis (optional):
We know learning happens in different ways, by different pathways, and in different styles. This workshop will briefly explore what‘s happening in our brains when people ‘get to something’ they’ve never thought of before - collectively. Three experiential exercises, bits of paleoanthropology and neurobiology, plus an inspiring Fortune 500 story will illuminate our narrative. In these 90 minutes, gain skills for regulating stress and nourishing co-learning and leave with Tools you can use immediately to sustain the joys of co-generating with curious humans – including a metric that tracks with organizational indicators. Your new tools will: 1) chart your own and others' immediate capacity for co-learning and design, and aid the development of methods to maximize that capacity; 2) include a leading metric that celebrates the collective rise of vitality and returns focus to the types of conversations that foster value. Playfully shared by a pioneering Business Anthropologist and a Systems Psychologist (early adopter of Interpersonal Neurobiology), the session is both sobering and exhilarating. The good news is: these desired states are biological, feel good, and spread organically. Our brains evolved to learn and act collectively. The bad news is: stress is also biological, spreads organically, and impairs our relating and creativity. Leading and coaching humans involves biology; we can learn to employ its inescapable power to nourish co-learning and regulate stress levels. And here’s more good news: doing so is immediately rewarding (and efforts to utilize this are well underway in schools, public health, and some businesses.) With the powerful take-away tools we will provide and explore, it could shortly be well underway in your workplace. This workshop will be interactive, and builds from a strong start. We hope you will choose to play if: You can COMMIT TO 90 minutes with NO ELECTRONICS.
