Long synopsis (optional):
We spend a lot of time talking with each other, but how often do we learn to elevate our conversations, so we can partner and innovate without the drains of misunderstandings or getting addicted to being right? Leaders, teams, and coaches all benefit from becoming more conversationally agile and intelligent! It has been noted that the quality of conversations in an organization determines the quality of the relationships, which determine the quality of the culture. Research continues to show us that how we work together is more important than what we do. When people experience trust, curiosity, and respect at work, they are more satisfied, engaged, and productive. These invisible concepts - like trust, are made visible and obtainable, when we pay attention to our conversations. I’ve had the opportunity to talk with coaches and leaders around the world about Conversational Intelligence®, which is based on the neuroscience of conversation and co-creating, and provides a framework and methods for improving how we show up. These are skills, or ways of being when we are relating, that can make a big difference. The impact can be refreshing, or even profound. Understanding the difference, for example, between talking at someone and talking with someone can transform a meeting. In this workshop, we will learn about and try out several of the most important essentials for keeping conversations agile, co-generated, and productive. You will leave with tips and techniques based on science, and tested by coaches, leaders, and companies around the world.
