Title:
Artificial Intelligence: The Future of Testing Software
Short synopsis:
The need for digital transformation has turned every business into a software business, and, therefore, the role of software quality management and testing has never been more critical. Consumers expect products that work, all the time, every time, on the devices of their choice. Service and product providers are under pressure to release new offerings faster than ever and keep their consumers' security and data protection foremost in mind. The discipline in the software development lifecycle most ripe for the adaption of Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence is that of software testing. In most organizations, software testing teams, both on-premise or offshore, execute testing manually, resulting in the need for a large number of testers, consuming a sizeable budgetary spend, working slowly, and risking human error. Adopting Artificial Intelligence in testing is a must for organisations. Their survival in the medium term relies on this. But many organisations have a low maturity in managing the quality of their software applications. Faced with arbitrary test data and with many still embarking on the journey to shift left with test automation, very few have the faintest idea where to start. What do we do with all the hype around Artificial Intelligence? Which of the myriad voices and doomsayers do we believe? How do we determine which of the vendors pitching their offerings can be trusted? What are the first steps to take to embark on a successful Artificial Intelligence journey?
