Talk description
Title:
How to involve agile teams in OKR planning and implementation
Short synopsis:
In a traditional OKR process, the objectives and respective key results are passed down from the highest to lowest levels of management and are to be executed by the teams. Agile teams, being more self-organizing and participatory, require a different approach in order to honour agile work principles and the respective mindset. This talk draws from business practice and exemplifies the process of planning and implementing, including: - how to split responsibilities between management and teams, - how to kick off the quarter with an OKR engagement day or kick-off, - how to manage inter-team-dependencies, - how to incorporate OKRs in the planning sessions of e.g. Scrum or Kanban teams, - possible check-ins during the quarter, especially with dependencies, - and reviewing the progress at the end of the quarter - as well as reprioritizing unfinished OKRs from one quarter with new OKRs.
