Long synopsis (optional):
In the past few years, many enterprises have launched into Agile initiatives in a bid to maintain digital competitiveness and as their business is increasingly technology dependent. However many have embarked on wholesale initiatives, which were doomed for failure from the start. And it is what resulted indeed. This workshop will focus on introducing the audience to Wardley Mapping as a framework to build situational awareness and deploy the right effort across the value chain. We would invite the participants to produce their own map. A short version of the talk would cover the basics of mapping, run an example and invite the audience to map their own context from that example. We would also cover the ways-of-working across the map, where Agile belongs and how Lean applies. We'll touch on the concept of Pioneers / Settlers / Town Planners too. A longer version (90min) can also go deeper into mapping and give an overview of the Doctrine and Gameplay. We could also give a short overview of the connections with Cynefin and some description of the innovation chasm, commoditisation chasm, diffusion curves, etc.
