Talk description
Title:
7 questions to build a roadmap
Short synopsis:
Everyone loves a good roadmap. Especially if everyone can contribute to that roadmap. Through asking the right questions, you can build a roadmap that aligns agile and traditional thinking, that helps everyone to understand what they need to do to build and operate a product or service that you know will meet the outcomes you want to achieve. This focussed workshop will take you through a set of seven simple, yet incredibly powerful questions you can use. Questions that will help you gain understanding and buy-in from across your organisation that will enable you to deliver products and services that will meet the needs of your users. It's a process designed by an amazing practitioner, Jamie Arnold, that Jamie and I know does help, and that we want more people to practice.

Long synopsis (optional):
I have had the great fortune to work with amazing people over the past few years. A couple of those people, Richard Pope and particularly Jamie Arnold, came up with a process for building brilliant roadmaps through asking seven simple, powerful questions: http://www.jamiearnold.com/blog/2014/07/22/seven-questions-to-build-a-roadmap I've used this process with Jamie, by myself, and with other colleagues using this process. Everyone can see the benefit of doing it. It has helped major programmes deliver in incredibly complex environments. More recently, I have run workshops within the NHS on using this process. It has inspired other people to use it. Having spoken to Jamie Arnold, he is delighted that I am hoping to spread the use of this process. Everyone's heard of Wardley Maps. I want everyone to know about Arnold Roadmaps!
