Talk description
Title:
Product Owners: The Primary Storytellers In Scrum Teams
Short synopsis:
For product owners who want to increase engagement in their scrum teams this session is an interactive, story-telling workshop unlike writing requirements traditionally this session aims to teach storytelling techniques and structures in a fun, and engaging way to demonstrate how the "stories" can make data more human. I believe this is an important topic to talk about as I meet many product owners who have become user story writing factories. The aim of this workshop is to encourage product owners to tell stories instead of writing them, by experiencing telling and listening to stories in this workshop.

Long synopsis (optional):
After attending this session, attendees will have: * More knowledge and appreciation on how story-telling accesses more parts of the human brain. * A basic template for story structuring (which can be easily applied to product visions & sprint goals) * Had practice at telling stories in small groups and feedback on how their story-telling technique * Created some new "tokens for conversations" to use instead of more traditional AS... I WANT... SO THAT templates. This session will follow my preferred interactive workshop style, which is based around improv short-form games I have learned and created, and is this case, applied in my Product Owner classes and workshops for clients.
