Talk description
Title:
Mastering Body Language Using Improv Games
Short synopsis:
For experienced trainers, coaches and ScrumMasters who want to advance their teaching or coaching skills this session is a mix of body language theory and improv games that will demonstrate how our limbic brain works and how we can exercise our ability in how to read people and situations unlike reading a book this session will use improv games to highlight subtle changes in body language and have some fun in spotting how our limbic brain generally shows our true self. This topic is important to me because I see body language as a key part of how a coaching client is talking to me, and also how scrum team members react to certain situations. I also doubt some trainers and coaches realise how much our brains communicate through non-verbal body language and I think many attendees would find some of these simple observations insightful.

Long synopsis (optional):
After attending this session, attendees will have: * An awareness of how the human body reacts when we feel comfortable or uncomfortable * Played simple improv games to help demonstrate how the body can be used to show emotions and engagement * Learned some basics principles of how to train themselves to look for subtle changes in the body language of others * Had some fun playing with other conference attendees in the process! I have designed this workshop to be an equal split of body language theory and fun, short-form improv games which I use in teaching and team coaching myself. The games will reinforce or play with the theory in each section. We will debrief each section in small tables with focussed questions, and then a short summary as a large group.
