Raphael Hewett - Product Owner, PartnerChoice I have spent my whole career ensuring what people see looks great. I started out working within TV behind the scenes as a floor manager and then on to cameras, where ensuring what the viewer (customer) saw of that particular show made them want to stay tuned in and engaged. After some time travelling the world and moving into the corporate scene when living in Sydney, Australia, I got involved with graphic design and web publishing. I realised what a huge impact good design and user experience were when browsing websites and internal communications. Much like good or bad TV it sticks with you and you either buy into it or not. This leads to my role within the John Lewis Partnership and making the benefits they have to staff become alive and accessible. With over 500 locations and some 83,000 employees the task to engage them all is immense, but with communications channels that are vibrant and alive, that does what the customer wants them to do makes it achievable. My mantra is to think what does the customer want? what would they like to see? how would they use it? and within internal audiences, this is vastly overlooked to what the business wants forgetting staff are customers, and happy staff = happy customers = happy profit :-) Jon White - Manager, Benefits Operations and PartnerChoice I’ve managed to do a job that has always felt like the right thing to do, and lucky enough to call it work. A diverse range of responsibilities including general management, product ownership, process engineering and even skippering yachts... it’s all in a day’s work with the purpose of creating a great space for our staff to work in. I always try to understand why we need to do something, then act as a synapse to connect people and decide what tactics to use.
