I am an optimistic by nature and enjoy working with people to make their lives a little bit easier at the end of their day. My first exposure to Agile Software Development, specifically Scrum, was in 2003 while working in Washington, DC in the public sector. I was blown away by the concepts, as they 'just made sense to me' when I read through the white papers and participated in trainings. I was eventually certified by Scrum co-founder Ken Schwaber in 2006. Every since I was originally exposed, I have been a natural advocate at heart for the core principles of Scrum to improve processes and get things done in any work area. I am currently serving as the Director of Engineering Delivery at Lifesize, a video and web conferencing solution company. While working here I have successfully transformed the Engineering Department from waterfall to now scaling scrum at the department level. Even our CEO talks in 'sprint' terminology for when a feature or work item will be addressed. I have two small children and enjoy swimming and cycling for fun. I love living in Austin, Texas - flip flops and chips and salsa are two of my favorites!
