Talk description
Title:
Safe, Responsible and Ethical AI - Is it Possible?
Short synopsis:
From personal finance to government public services, from social media to preventative policing, collected personal data, complex algorithms and automated decisions are increasingly governing our lives. This talk will set out some of the challenges and potential dangers around such automated decisions, and then provide a structured practical framework for assessing the quality and risks around your own use of machine learning and AI, covering not just data, tools, and algorithms, but also process and governance. Tariq will also grapple with and demystify some of more difficult issues such as the "black box" problem, and the subjectivity of ethics. This talk is not technical, and suitable for all levels.
