Motivation, the brain and video games - lessons and practical examples to improve team engagement
Short synopsis:
In 2017, the gaming industry earned a whopping $108.9 billion worldwide. Indeed there is something about video games and gaming that just draws people in and keeps them enticed and addicted. But what can we learn from video games and the gamer brain? In this talk we will go through the cognitive science of the brain on games and how it relates to intrinsic motivation and engagement. We will do this by going through specific examples of video games and the different parts of the brain that get stimulated that results to increase in engagement. We will look into the principles we've learned from the video games and take this into our work-team context. Having understand the principles we will then look into practice examples, practices which we can take and adapt into our team practices to improve engagement.
