Title:
Neuroscience of Agile Mindset - how to turn the brain to BE Agile
Short synopsis:
What is an Agile Mindset? Is that a resistance to failure? Internal motivation? Inborn growth mindset? Striving for a result? Can we put this in the team's brain? Can we help people to BE Agile? We are going to go quite deep in the neuroscience of motivation, intention, result, failure, and learning, and build the brain process that creates an Agile Mindset (using behavior activation process). It is based on 4 main neurotransmitters and hormones and how they work in the brain and can be summarised in a framework. Some of these processes are already inbuilt in Scrum (and we will identify these), but some might be enhanced by 2 additional tools that I would like to share too.

Long synopsis (optional):
Description: What is an Agile Mindset? Learning Outcomes Participants will: - Understand what is Agile Mindset in neuroscience terms - Understand how motivation is established in the brain (dopamine pathways) and how failure is processed - Learn that our brain is a perfect prediction machine and how we use that for team motivation and how it can easily demotivate if it is used incorrectly - Summarise 3 main components of Agile team motivation in a simple framework that can be used - Set up the Agile process using 4 neurotransmitters and see the internal logic of Agile practices - Map an Agile Mindset to Scrum framework - which parts are working towards different components of team motivation - Understand the hidden ingredient without that the whole motivation system will not work (using neuroscience explanation) - this is the freedom of choice and this is the core of an Agile mindset. - Learn 2 new tools that help to avoid blocks in an Agile Mindset Mechanics and Details 0 - 5.00 - Introduction, about Anna's experience and Neuroleadership and Applied Neuroscience approach that she uses 5.00-10.00 - Discussion what is Agile Mindset, how people with an Agile Mindset behave. ( in summary, it would be an Agile Mindset as Growth Mindset with Result Authorising and Trust) 10.00-20.00 - Introduction to the neuroscience of Agile Mindset: Dopamine, Serotonin, Oxytocin and Cortisol neurotransmitters and hormones, what they are responsible for and important timings. 20.00- 25.00 Our brain as a perfect prediction machine (with some unexpected effects) - how we use it for team motivation? 25.00-30.00 - Putting this in a framework for creating an Agile Mindset (using behavior activation principle) 30.00-35.00 - Mapping the Agile Mindset framework to Scrum, what is already inbuilt? 35.00- 40.00 - Introducing 2 more tools - one to identify blocks in intention (dopamine) part of a framework, the second is to improve result authorizing (serotonin) part of the process. 40.00-45.00 Summary and Questions
