Talk description
Title:
Neuroscience for Product Managers
Short synopsis:
We usually underestimate how difficult the Product Manager or Product Owner role is. If we think about how much energy and how much brain they need to be able to generate creative ideas, be full of insights and handle market feedback - this is definitely the hardest role ever. Hopefully we have research in neuroscience that helps to understand how insights happen, how to improve decision making and how not to fall into confirmation bias (and some other biases that spoil how clear we see the situation). This talk will share ideas and tools that will help Product Managers to create even better products and keep brain fresh and creative.

Long synopsis (optional):
We usually underestimate how difficult the Product Manager or Product Owner role is. If we think about how much energy and how much brain they need to be able to generate creative ideas, be full of insights and handle market feedback - this is definitely the hardest role ever. Hopefully we have research in neuroscience that helps to understand how insights happen, how to improve decision making and how not to fall into confirmation bias (and some other biases that spoil how clear we see the situation). This talk will share ideas and tools that will help Product Managers to create even better products and keep brain fresh and creative. Learning Objectives: - How much energy Product managers need to be effective at their job (spoiler, 70% and this is the highest amount among all Agile roles, Scrum Master needs only 55%, Agile Coach can be effective with 60%). Product Manager - is the most difficult role according to brain requirements. - Neuroscience of creativity - what identifies how good people are at creating non trivial ideas - Where insights come from, prerequisites and brain waves - How to improve linear decision making and help insights to become real products - How to avoid confirmation bias and other main biases that may lead to wrong product decisions - How to give and receive feedback so it adds value to the product, and not triggers stress and anxiety This is a new talk, based on my recent study in Neuroleadership Institute, where I got huge amount of useful information that can be applied to different Agile roles. I've delivered parts of it in my current training with great feedback (neuroscience of insight is an absolute hit!) and in April 2019 I will deliver a full-day training on this topic and a talk too. So at the time of Agile on the Beach it will be well rehearsed and best ideas confirmed.
