Long synopsis (optional):
I present 11 principles (yes, this talk goes to 11) of effective on boarding and then discuss each one and why it is important. The talk doesn't layout a pre-packaged program, but rather gives the tools needed for the leaders to craft an on boarding program that works in the context of their individual circumstances and company structure. The objective is to give conference attendees a framework for successfully on boarding new developers. Most tech leaders are rightly concerned about making the initial developer experience the most effective and efficient possible, this talk helps achieve that objective.
