Title:
Panel Debate: Why Agile Transformations Fail
Short synopsis:
Come and debate the causes of success and failure when moving teams and organisations towards agile with an expert panel. Bring your agile transformations questions, no matter how simple, and put them to the panel and each other for answers! This session will be recorded for broadcast as part of the www.whyagiletransformationsfail.com podcast.

Long synopsis (optional):
In February 2017, I lauched the www.whyagiletransformationsfail.com podcast, exploring the reasons for the success or failure of agile transformations, speaking to people from across the world, across different industries, and across different topics, from product owning to scaling to coaching. The podcast now has over 1000 unique listeners per month across the world, and I thought it would be interesting to bring it into the real world by recording an episode as a panel debate at a conference. Here's how it would work: - I'd work with AOTB to pull together a panel of 3-4 panel members to take part in the debate, with myself acting as chair to keep the debate flowing. Ideally we'd use speakers or attendees already at AOTB, perhaps some of the keynote speakers? - The session (and AOTB) would be promoted via the podcast in the run up to AOTB, and a call for questions would be put out, to ensure some questions were ready ahead of time, in case the audience dry up or take a while to get going. - The prime purpose though would be to get the audience to bring their questions around agile transformation in any sector or field, put them to the panel, and have the panel debate them, as per Question Time on TV or Any Questions on Radio 4. - The session would then be put out as an episode of the podcast after the event for the benefit of those unable to attend the session. AOTB would of course be welcome to video the session and put it on YouTube as usual too. The session would be suitable for anyone interested in agile at any level. I'd hope indeed that we could encourage people with what seem like 'simple' questions to come along, perhaps those at the very early stages of their agile journey, rather than making this some academic level debate about Kotter's change model or the complexities of SAFe. In terms of my conference speaking abilities, I've been speaking at conferences for over 10 years now.
