Talk description
Title:
Success, what does it look like for you?
Short synopsis:
How do you measure success? What does success look like? How do you know if you on the right track? We face these challenges often within our daily lives. Whether you are looking for personal success or transformation/cultural change, it can be a struggle to identify and demonstrate success. However, looking to measure this can lead to helpful explorations of the bigger questions such as “what are we aiming for?”, “how will we know if we have improved?” and “what is the value in what we are doing?”. We’ll be exploring how we can deal with these questions and the good, bad and ugly side of setting goals and metrics. I have worked in a number of multinational companies, spanning different industries. From investment banks, to pharmaceutical and health care, to MOD technology companies via the national mapping agency for the UK, which have all faced these challenges. I have worked with individuals setting their personal goals, teams with their collaborative goals and also up to company transformation and cultural changes; this talk will draw on my experiences and share tips I have picked up on the way.

In this talk I’ll be discussing: -My experiences working with teams, individuals and companies (including established and greenfield teams) - How we set our goals, how we measured them (with some examples of how not to measure success) - Gamification of the measurements and the dangers that can come with that - I’ll ask you to look at your own goals and how you are measuring them
