Talk description
Title:
Fear and fun times in the uncanny valley. How Agile can help you enjoy the unknown.
Short synopsis:
We come at uncertainty from two different directions, with two different talks that (hopefully) meet in the middle to identify techniques from parenting, games, economics and Greek lifehacking to help you iterate effectively towards a good outcome (even if you don’t know what it is yet).

Long synopsis (optional):
Humans don’t like uncertainty. That is a fact. Humans also adore uncertainty. This is a fact too. How do we take the positive thrill-seeking behaviours of fun, games and childhood and apply it to the fear of the unknown in big software projects and organisational transformations? By looking at a range of real life examples from enthusiastic toddlers to Faustian pacts to game design to economics, we identify the attitudes, behaviours and mental models that helped our Agile teams work effectively in an uncertain world.
