Talk description
Title:
Why can't building software be more like building a bridge?
Short synopsis:
How many times have you heard it "Building software should be like building physical things, bridges, tunnels, houses." After all both disciplines have developers, architects and foundations. So why can't software be like construction with well defined business cases, budgets, schedules and reliable delivery? In this talk Allan Kelly will attempt to answer the old question with a radically new answer: because building software can be so much better. Instead of asking "Why can't software be like bridges" we should be asking "Why can't bridges be like software."
