Long synopsis (optional):
Even though Agile is an accepted development approach, Agile is still facing problems with the transition beyond software development. Traditional structures, culture and mindset are still around and clash with Agile on several organizational levels. Examples are the collaboration between an agile project and its traditional customer, or the communication with other organizational units like HR, marketing, the purchasing department or operations. The problems that can be found on these interfaces block a successfull agile transition and impede efficient collaboration. We invite you to participate in our interactive workshop to discuss with us the problems at the interface between Agile and traditional Approaches. Based on our previous work, we provide an introduction and motivation of the topic. The participants are invited to report their problems which are then collected, clustered and mapped to our initial categorization of problems. The output is an overview map over common interface problems. Based on the priorities provided by the participants, selected problems will be discussed in detail with the aim of developing solutions. This could also be done in smaller groups, depending on the total amount of participants. This workshop was similarly conducted at the Agile Automotive PEP in Berlin and has proven to be an interesting exchange of ideas between industry and into research. This workshop is of interest for you if • You are involved in/ responsible for an Agile Transition • You follow traditional approaches, and have to collaborate with agile teams • You work in an agile team, but have to collaborate with other projects or organizational units following a traditional approach
